FANDOM Fest is in full force at New York Comic Con 2017! Geeks of Doom had an exclusive experience at the FANDOM Fantasy Food Truck, with delicious recipes to nosh inspired by Rick and Morty, The Walking Dead, Star Wars, and Stranger Things.

When Warner Bros. announced a Flashpoint film as a part of their DCEU slate, it meant that their comic book movie universe could be in for a change. In the comics, Flashpoint is the result of Flash going back in time to rescue his mother only to find out that time has changed in the present. Meaning that he didn’t have his powers, Thomas Wayne became the Batman as the result of his son dying, and the entire world is at war with Themyscira and Atlantis.

Now there’s a rumor that Wonder Woman could be appearing in the Flashpoint movie. Find out more on this story below.

At long last, the final issue of one of the best alliances the seventies could ever offer is here. In Wonder Woman ’77 Meets The Bionic Woman #6, our heroines find themselves outmaneuvered and outmatched! But things are not as bleak as you might think. Because while CASTRA has seemingly endless troops, our mighty ladies have backup of their own.

In this issue, Diana has recovered from her injury and she and Jaime race towards the great battle with the Fembots on Paradise Island. Modern technology meets sword and arrow as the two groups square off in melee combat. Armored up, our heroines literally drop into battle and take their place defending the home of the Amazons.

We are more than half way through the year and we haven’t been exposed to many great films. Naturally, at this point of the year, there may have been a handful of pictures that would have had a profound influence on its viewers initially. One or two have had such an impact (A Ghost Story and Wind River), while others could replicate that same feeling with multiple viewings (the majority of the films on this list). But the majority of the year’s pickings are lacking distinction. We’ll be looking forward to the next few months. Until then, here are my picks for the best movies of 2017 so far.

Things are shaping up well for Wonder Woman 2. After a long period of negotiating, Warner Bros. announced Patty Jenkins would return to direct the highly anticipated sequel, with a massive pay increase that would make her one of the highest paid female filmmakers in the industry. She will also be co-writing the script with Geoff Johns.

Now the two will be joined by an “Expendable” writer. But it’s not that kind of expendable. New reports confirm that The Expendables co-writer Dave Callaham will be joining the team. More on the story below.
