| Robert Downey Jr. Will Return As Tony Stark In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’
For months it has been rumored, semi-confirmed, and joked about on the junket circuit and late night talk show circuit, but now it is official: Robert Downey Jr. has signed on to co-star in Spider-Man: Homecoming! Naturally he’ll be returning to play Tony Stark in the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios production which Jon Watts (Cop Car) is directing from a screenplay by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Horrible Bosses), with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige producing alongside Amy Pascal. Tom Holland, the latest actor to play Spider-Man, will make his first appearance as the superhero in next month’s Captain America: Civil War. The events of that film are expected to pay off in Homecoming.

| Channing Tatum Is Joining The Cast Of ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ |

The gleefully violent, vulgar, and witty spy spoof Kingsman: The Secret Service, based on the comic series The Secret Service created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, was destined to get a sequel after grossing $414 million at the global box office last year. Luckily for us fans of the film, writer-director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class), his writing partner Jane Goldman (Stardust, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), and newcomer leading man Taron Egerton (Eddie the Eagle, Legend) will all be returning for the sequel, which is now going by the name Kingsman: The Golden Circle. It now appears as if a Hollywood heavy-hitter is preparing to join the colorful, globe-trotting mayhem as 21 Jump Street and Magic Mike star Channing Tatum has signed on to play an unspecified role.

| Michael Keaton Becomes Early Contender For ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Villain Role |

Last night at CinemaCon it was confirmed that the upcoming Spider-Man reboot being produced by Sony Pictures in conjunction with Marvel Studios would indeed be titled Spider-Man: Homecoming as previously suggested. Now it appears that the production is close to adding another high-profile actor to the cast. Justin Kroll at Variety is reporting that none other than Michael Keaton is in early talks to play the film’s mystery villain, which could possibly turn out to be the winged supercriminal the Vulture if the rumors are true.

| ‘The Predator’ Will Be Shane Black’s Next Movie, Take Place In The Present Day |

At this year’s CinemaCon, writer-director Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) was briefly interviewed by Collider’s Steven Weinraub about the status of The Predator, a big-budget sequel/reboot/something or other in 20th Century Fox’s sci-fi action franchise that he is co-writing with Fred Dekker, the esteemed writer and director of the cult classics Night of the Creeps and The Monster Squad (the latter also sports a co-writing credit from Black). According to Black, The Predator will be his next film, once again putting his long-in-development Doc Savage feature on the back burner.
