Trollhunters, the upcoming animated series from Netflix and DreamWorks Animations, had a big presence at this year’s New York Comic-Con this weekend. The trailer and poster were revealed at a panel for the series, which launches on Netflix this December, and I got a chance to participate in roundtable press interviews with several members of the voice cast, as well as executive producer Guillermo Del Toro, who co-wrote the book upon which the series is based. Up first were voice actors Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) and Charlie Saxton (Betas). Check out the roundtable interview here below.

At New York Comic-Con Saturday afternoon, I had the pleasure of shooting the breeze with veteran actor Graham McTavish. The Scottish actor has over 100 IMDb credits including film, TV, and voiceover work in both animation and video games. Currently, he can be seen on the hit Starz series Outlander where he plays Dougal MacKenzie, as well as on AMC’s Preacher as The Cowboy/The Killer Of Saints. Between my wife’s obsession with Outlander and my love of Preacher, Graham McTavish is a popular man in our home.

It was a packed house on Saturday afternoon at The Theater at Madison Square Garden for New York Comic-Con, for Universal Pictures and Legendary Pictures’ The Great Wall panel and Q&A. From the director of some of the most beautiful kung fu epics eves, Zhang Yimou (House of Flying Daggers/Hero), comes the largest production in the history of China, which makes sense since it’s called, The Great Wall. The film is a historical fantasy based on Chinese folklore about the monsters the Great Wall of China was built to keep out and the army dedicated to killing them. It features an all-star international cast including Oscar winner Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones), Jing Tian, Wang Junkai, Willem Dafoe, and Andy Lau. Director Zhang Yimou, and cast members Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, and Junkai Wang were on hand for the NYCC panel, moderated by Dave Karger.

Speaking of which, Marvel was on hand at New York Comic-Con this weekend to drop a little trailer for their final solo hero series, Iron Fist. Finn Jones (Game Of Thrones) plays the title character aka Danny Rand, who as a young orphan trains with martial artists who then endow him with great mystic powers.
