Black Widow will further make a big contribution to the highly anticipated 2015 release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron and now word is officially out that Marvel plans to further invest in the badass Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. with a solo Black Widow movie!

MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS #4

With the recent Iron Man 3 casting announcements of Guy Pearce as a villain, Jessica Chastain as a sexy scientist, and Sir Ben Kingsley as another villain, it was thought that they would be joining returning cast members Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Scarlett Johansson.

Now it appears that Johansson and her Black Widow character will not be appearing in the trilogy-maker after all. In an interview with Screen Rant for upcoming Marvel superhero epic, The Avengers, the actress shared that she would not be part of that particular project. But she also made sure to clarify that this might not be the end of her run as the character; Johansson stated that she saw a Bourne Identity-style Black Widow movie in there somewhere that she’d love to do eventually.

Killian was an integral character in “Extremis,” the six-issue Iron Man comic arc penned by Warren Ellis that is said to be the inspiration for Iron Man 3.

The Avengers banner

I have a feeling The Avengers is going to be one of the most entertaining movies we see this year. Last night the film was screened for critics and the overall reaction was extremely positive. Make no mistake, the expectations for this movie are higher than any comic book-based blockbuster made to date with the possible exception of the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises. At least we can take some comfort in knowing that it delivers where it counts, and then some.

Now, Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios have released a brand new image of the Hulk as rendered by FX artisans Industrial Light and Magic. You can check it out here below.
