 |

Every day now appears to bear news regarding Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Spider-Man reboot, which might be titled either The Spectacular Spider-Man or Spider-Man: The New Avenger, and is rumored take place during Peter Parker’s high school years. The title role has yet to be cast, but the front-runners reportedly include Nat Wolff, Asa Butterfield, Tom Holland, Timothée Chalamet, and Liam James. Drew Goddard (Cabin in the Woods) supposedly had been the studios’ top choice to write and direct the reboot, but recently a list of possible directors up for the job was released by Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr. and Goddard’s name is nowhere to be found. Instead it appears as if Marvel and Sony are on the hunt for someone who will bring a lighter touch to the proceedings because the list features the likes of Jonathan Levine, Jared Hess, Jason Moore, Theodore Melfi, and the team of John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. | Jeremy Renner Sings About Hawkeye’s Powers On ‘The Tonight Show’ (Video)
Sometimes the underrated characters turn out to be the ones we remember the most. Maybe Jeremy Renner hasn’t had much to do in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far as the wisecracking ace archer Hawkeye, but early reviews of the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron have listed Renner’s performance and the greater attention paid to his character as one of the film’s better qualities. Just to prove how cool he and the Hawk both really are, Renner paid a recent visit to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to sing a lovely song about the struggles he faces being the most unappreciated Avenger of them all, set to the tune of Ed Sheeran‘s “Thinking Out Loud.” You can watch the video here below.

| Marvel’s Subtle Nods To ‘Star Wars’ In Phase 2 Films
Marvel has sneaky way of dropping some Easter Eggs in their films. Sometimes it may be a visual thing or an auditory thing, but there is one non-Marvel nod that you may have missed. The lost of upper limbs has been somewhat of a recurring theme throughout Phase 2 of the MCU, and that’s because its making a reference to Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. While on the Avengers: Age of Ultron press tour, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that such Easter eggs exist, and you can expect to see them in the Avengers sequel and Ant-Man. Minor spoilers will follow.

Marvel’s Daredevil
Season 1
Created by Drew Goddard
Starring Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Rosario Dawson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ayelet Zurer, Toby Leonard Moore, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Bob Gunton
Netflix
Premiere: April 10, 2015 First off, let me say that I have been thoroughly impressed with every Netflix Original Series I have seen so far and I had high hopes for Marvel’s Daredevil when I first heard it was in production. As the first of four all-new live-action Marvel franchises, the spotlight was trained on this one when it became available on April 10, 2015. And folks, it was well worth the wait. Dark and gritty, it is everything you would expect of a show that features a blind superhero fighting the good fight in the streets of Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. But let me expound on that for a moment. The term “superhero” is not really applicable in this particular instance. There’s not much that is super about Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), unless you count his ability to take a beating. He’s highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat, but he’s not so remarkable that he escapes injury. As a matter of fact, it’s amazing how much Murdock does get hit. It’s his sheer force of will that makes him the formidable opponent that he is in this program.

| Anthony and Joe Russo Will Direct ‘The Avengers: Infinity War’ For Marvel Studios
One thing Marvel Studios adores almost as much as reaping those massive box office returns and being the dominant blockbuster factory on the planet is handing some genuinely talented directors with zilch for proven track records the reins to their mega-budget tentpole properties. They also love consistency, so with Joss Whedon vacating the director’s chair on the studio’s epic, two-part Phase Three crossover event The Avengers: Infinity War, it looks as if the job has been officially secured by Anthony and Joe Russo.
