| The Digital Wire Blu-ray/DVD Release News: Clint, Classics and Controversy
This week’s edition of The Digital Wire is a tad on the slim side and for that I blame that 50 Shades of Grey mania that has gripped the nation harder than…..never mind. There’s also heavy snowfall in some areas and that usually slows the march of progress down. Okay, enough of the blame game. Below you’ll find info on several future home video releases complete with technical specs, release dates, and links to pre-order at Amazon, as well as the DVD/Blu-rays that will be available this week. We would greatly appreciate it if you use those links to order because a small percentage of each order helps keep this website running at max power. The cover art for certain titles has yet to be finalized.

| ‘Poltergeist’ Reboot First Look: New Clown Even Scarier |
 |

“They’re Heeere.” Or is it, “They’re baaaack”? Or”¦ “They’re Heeeere”¦again”? Whichever way you say it, it’s been over 32 years since Tobe Hooper and Steven Spielberg ruined the childhoods of millions with Poltergeist. Now, horror-philes like myself are eagerly awaiting the Gil Kenan reboot. If you’re bothered by what may seem like another in a long line of horror remakes, sequels, and remake-quels, consider first that Kenan (director of Monster House) was terrified by the original as a kid and the film is produced by horror-icon Sam Raimi. The first look of the reboot has been revealed in a set of photos released by USA Today, which you can see here below. The story of invisible angry spirits kidnapping a family’s small daughter, Carol Anne, was notable for several bone-chilling moments, including the crawling steak, the bathroom face-ripping scene, and of course”¦ THAT DAMN CLOWN DOLL! Fresh off Killer Clown, John Wayne Gacy’s killing spree, and a pint-sized clown masked Michael Myers (in 1978’s Halloween), clowns became even more terrifying in the late 70s and early 80s.

| Disney In Depth: The Walt Disney Studios 2015 Preview (Part 2)
The Walt Disney Studios’ most exciting slate of films in recent memory arrives in 2015. Despite a few films shifting release dates from when I first considered this to be Disney’s most major year ever back in May 2013, the line-up of movies can excite anyone. Whether you adore Disney’s standard fare (sports, sci-fi, fantasy, and animation) or even anything under the Pixar, Lucasfilm, or Marvel banners, Disney will surely dominate the box office and perhaps even critical hits, too. This second part (be sure to check out Part 1 right here if you missed it) will focus on each of the theatrical films to debut from The Walt Disney Studios during the latter part of this year.

| Scarlett Johansson To Star In ‘Ghost In The Shell’ Movie
Last we heard The Wolf of Wall Street star and future Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie, was in talks to star in DreamWorks Pictures’ upcoming live-action adaptation of the animated movie Ghost in the Shell, which is based on the popular Japanese manga of the same name. That casting ultimately did not work out. Now comes word that DreamWorks finally has their star locked in. It’s being reported that The Avengers and Lucy star Scarlett Johansson has signed on for the movie, which is set to be directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman).
