When Sony inked a deal with Marvel Studios to share Spider-Man, it allowed the neighborhood friendly webslinger to play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sandbox. So when the character finally made his big MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War, everyone got excited about where he’d get to go in future films, like Avengers: Infinity War. But before you get excited about that, it appears that Spider-Man may not appear in the major Marvel superhero ensemble after all.

Earlier this year, Captain America: Civil War stormed into theaters wowing audiences with its spectacular narrative and incredible splash-page sequence that no one could stop talking about. Now, Disney and Marvel are letting fans bring that home, as the film is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. We’ve already reviewed the film and had some extra cool coverage during the press junket. Like my previous Blu-ray reviews, this won’t be so much of a review of the film itself, but of the bonus features that come with it. Check it out below.

This past weekend, Marvel Studios hd something extra special to show their fans at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Aside from Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, and Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming made a very brief appearance to show Hall H attendees from exclusive footage (see our description of what was shown). Now, it’s very unlikely who were not in attendance will get to see this footage any time soon, but they’ll be able to get the entire film next year.

Here’s what we do know so far about the characters in director Jon Watts‘ Spider-Man film: Tom Holland is Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya plays Michelle, and the film will have a John Hughes vibe. But as for Tony Revolori, Jacob Batalon, and Laura Harrier, their characters have remained under wraps… until now. Spider-Man: Homecoming is easily one of the most anticipated MCU films to come next year. While yet another reboot based on the Webslinger could be a cause for concern, his introduction into the MCU via Captain America: Civil War cast the doubts that many of us had aside. Now as we look to the future, star Tom Holland will be our one and true Spider-Man.

Right in the middle of the MCU panel, Holland and director Jon Watts arrived to somewhat of a surprised crowd. Only because it wasn’t really clear if Marvel could show any footage from the film considering it still belongs to Sony. But now it’s clear. And just to make themselves feel right at home they previewed a tiny clip of what they have been shooting. Check out a brief description below. Oh, and yes. Vulture has been confirmed as the villain of the movie.

Now that Spider-Man has been officially welcomed to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we can look forward to Spider-Man: Homecoming, his upcoming standalone film which is expected to hit theaters next year.

There wasn’t really any worry that the film would be an origins story considering that was already done in Captain America: Civil War, so what better way to introduce the new Webslinger to the superhero shared universe than to attach a subtitle that has a double meaning to it.
