| SDCC 2015: Bill Murray Makes First Comic-Con Appearance (Video)
Believe it or not, the great Bill Murray, star of Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation, many of the works of Wes Anderson, and so much more, has never ever made an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con. But that all changed today. Murray took part in the panel for his latest film, Rock the Kasbah. And, as you would expect from the larger-than-life star, he made the most of his first entrance, walking right through the Hall H crowd, singing along to Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water” as his Kasbah character, rock manager Richie Lanz. Keeping with the music theme, he even had the crowd join him in a 30-second singalong. But instead of singing something specific this time, he had everyone sing whatever they want. The first full day of the Hall H festivities started off with its biggest panel of the day for Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part II. The film franchise comes to its end later this year, after having grossed over $1 billion at the box office worldwide. The studio has done some brilliant marketing in the past, which is expected to continue until its release. But today is one of the biggest days to promote the movie, and moderator Conan O’Brien was on hand to talk to director Francis Lawrence, producer Nina Jacobson, and film stars Willow Shields, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, and Jennifer Lawrence about the final half of the final chapter of the series. It’s the first full day of Comic-Con, and studios will be out in full force releasing all sorts of promotion to push their films, and amp up excitement in anticipation for their release. Today, Lionsgate will take over Hall H, and they are starting things a little early by releasing two new posters for The Last Witch Hunter starring Vin Diesel. These two posters feature two different iterations of Vin Diesel’s character, one representing his past self in the film, while the other is a modern-day version of the character, Kaulder.
