Each and every week, I, “Giant Robot!” Henchman 21 and “Space Robot!” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of July 1, 2015. Single issues and trades, they’re all here. I thought I was going to have an easy list to write this week, but as I started seeing what was coming out, I had to keep adding things and adding things and adding things. It turned a shorter list into a longer list, but that just means you, the fine reader, have plenty to look forward to when you go to the store today. I hope you’re ready for some new series, some reprints, and plenty more on a jam-packed The GoD List!

Cover Price: $3.99 Barb Wire #1 brings one of Dark Horse Comics’ original successes to publication for the first time in years, and what a return it is! This book is the same great comic that I remember reading almost 20 years ago. Series creator Chris Warner returns to write the series, and he hasn’t missed a step with this debut issue. It’s got all the biting, satirical jabs at modern-day society that were a hallmark of the original series. Besides featuring a really solid story, Warner sneaks in some laugh-out-loud moments that are truly great. Underneath these moments are opportunities to actually stop and THINK about the message that Warner is sending, hopefully the message will get through to its intended audience. Now, don’t worry about this being a “preachy” social commentary comic, because it works on two different levels. The other level is that of a really entertaining, kick-butt story that’s loaded with action and fun, that also has some surprising twists and turns.

| Guillermo del Toro Departs ‘Justice League Dark’; ‘Sandman’ Now At New Line Cinema
The Hollywood Reporter ran an article yesterday about how Warner Bros. is currently in the process of moving some of their less kid-friendly DC Comics movie projects, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s Sandman adaptation, over to their New Line Cinema division. Buried at the very end was the most distressing news the article contained: Guillermo del Toro is no longer directing Justice League Dark, by far the one future DC film venture I wanted to see made more than anything.

| ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’ Sequel Gets Its Official Title
Okay, so how many of you fans of Guardians of the Galaxy woke up this morning knowing you were going to learn the official title of the upcoming sequel by the end of the day? I know, me neither. But it happened, by gum. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige let it slip during a press event to promote Ant-Man, but writer-director James Gunn has confirmed it. The Guardians will return in….Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2!

| The Japanese ‘Ant-Man’ Trailer Is The Best One Yet (Video)
The latest trailer for Peyton Reed‘s Marvel Studios superhero adventure Ant-Man has been released. It comes from Japan and features more action and humor than previous trailers. You can check it out here below. Just about every clip in this trailer is either new or slightly different from what Marvel has previewed for us in recent months. We get more clips of Paul Rudd getting miniature and kicking butt (and outrunning a massive flood….in a bathtub) and Corey Stoll‘s Yellowjacket being an evil bastard. Whoever cut this trailer for the Japanese market had the good sense to conclude it with the priceless train set gag from the first full U.S. trailer released back in April.
