| Mark Millar’s ‘Superior’ Auction Mark Millar, creator of many of the most talked about comic books of recent memory including Kick-Ass, Nemesis, Old Man Logan, and Civil War, has posted an interesting auction on Ebay for his next creation, Superior. In this auction, Millar has left it to fans and do-gooders alike to name the title character’s secret identity, all in the name of charity.
In the past, Millar has held auctions for roles in Kick-Ass and Nemesis on behalf of special needs units in a school where his brother, Dr. Bobby Millar, has tirelessly raised money for many handicapped children, and the Superior auction is no exception. Millar describes his motivations:

| ‘Kick-Ass’ Director Matthew Vaughn To Deliver ‘X-Men: First Class’ Next June
Matthew Vaughn went above and beyond the call of duty to get Kick-Ass made when studios wanted nothing to do with such controversial content. After proving how appealing it was to younger audiences, the director’s passion and drive is paying off with a big new gig. 20th Century Fox has tapped Vaughn to direct X-Men: First Class, the project that originally had Bryan Singer attached to return to the world of mutants. The movie will be based on the Marvel comic book series of the same name, which takes place in the earlier years of Professor Xavier’s school for the gifted and when some of your favorite mutants were first coming to be.

| Spoiler Talk: Kick-Ass |

I may not be able to make comic book movies, but I can kick your ass. I am a big comic book fan and read Kick-Ass a while back and really enjoyed it. That being said I was extremely nervous and excited about seeing this movie’s translation from comic book to movie. Well the time finally arrived for me and I got to see another one of my favorite comics on the big screen.
Now that I have seen the movie I have to say I really enjoyed it overall. One thing that stands true for most adaptations to film is that not everything translates perfectly from print to the big screen. As seen with Wanted a couple years ago this is nowhere near a straight translation from print to screen. The movie started production when only four issues of the comic had been written. There will be people upset by the changes but overall they make sense for a big screen version of the story. I really hope people come into the movie with an open mind. I am sure that anybody with a chip on their shoulder from Wanted will probably not enjoy the movie as much as it should be enjoyed. Well enough small talk let’s kick ass and start up a little SPOILER TALK about one of the most action-packed movie of the year so far. Below are my spoiler filled thoughts on the movie Kick Ass. Don’t forget to add your spoiler filled thoughts at the end of the post in the comments section.

| Watch Now: Big Daddy vs Batman |
 |

Nicolas Cage, who stars as Big Daddy in Kick-Ass, made an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno this week to promote his new superhero action film, which opens in theaters today. In Kick-Ass, which is based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and John Romita Jr., Cage’s Big Daddy is a Batman-type superhero out for justice while plotting revenge on a mob boss. His costume and gadgets all scream ‘Batman’ as does his motivations, but Big Daddy is a lot more violent and unforgiving than the Caped Crusader, as evidenced by the clip from the film that was shown on The Tonight Show. For Cage’s appearance on the late night talk show, host Jay Leno decided to test the actor’s knowledge on Batman by going beyond just asking him trivia questions. Instead, he had Adam West, who played Batman on the 1960’s television series Batman, come out to play against him! Now, Cage is known for his love of comics and superheros, but can he really beat Batman in a Batman trivia contest? Find out in this video below from the trivia segment, which also includes the aforementioned clip from the film.
