| Disney CEO Not Expecting ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ To Be As Successful As ‘The Force Awakens’ |
 |

The Star Wars universe will be venturing into a new galaxy this year as they will be releasing their first spinoff film. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will center on a group of Rebel fighters attempting to steal the plans to the Death Star. A true prequel that takes place before A New Hope. But the exciting part of the film is that it will focus on those who don’t have Jedi powers and have a ground war feel to it. But troubles behind-the-scenes have put the film in a very awkward position. Partially because Star Wars: The Force Awakens was such a massive hit, there are expectations that Disney should be able to follow up that same success for every new film released. And with the summer-long reshoots that took place and the addition of new creative forces, it seems like Rogue One could fall short of the expectations that The Force Awakens established last year. And that’s what Disney CEO Bob Iger is not afraid to admit, but he is also remains optimistic that it could do very well based on the reactions to the marketing campaign. Check out what he had to say below.

| Michael Giacchino Replaces Alexandre Desplat To Score ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’
It’s not as though Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is not used to changes. This past summer, the Star Wars spinoff went through a series of reshoots, with Tony Gilroy providing much of the rewrites to the script. At the time, the film had already completed principal photography, and rumors of 40% of the film were quickly shot down. While reshoots are just a part of any blockbuster tentpole, it has had a bit of a negative impact. In the wake of these reshoots, Oscar-winning composer Alexandre Desplat will no longer be composing the score for the film. But all is not lost as he will be replaced by another Oscar-winning composer, and one who is familiar with Disney and science fiction. A new report says Michael Giacchino will now conduct the score for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. More on the story below.

| The Current Status Of That Live Action ‘Star Wars’ TV Series
Once upon a time it sounded like a live-action Star Wars TV series was within a couple of years of becoming a reality, with George Lucas himself penning 100 episodes. That was over a decade ago now. It’s a damn shame too, as fans were understandably excited by it being described as “Deadwood meets The Sopranos in space.” A few years later there were whispers that casting for the show was going on. Another few years later and we heard about a possible title: Star Wars: Underworld. And then, you guessed it, another three years later Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy said they still wanted to explore it. Now a new update on the status of the series has been offered. It’s not much, but you can see where things stand below.

| Adam Driver Says The Stakes Are Higher In ‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’
Production has already been completed for Star Wars: Episode VIII directed by Rian Johnson for quite some time, and even though the film probably won’t follow the same mystery box marketing method that we saw in The Force Awakens, it’s safe to say that Disney and Lucasfilm won’t reveal any plot details anytime soon. But we have learned that the film takes place just moments after The Force Awakens ended and that Lupita Nyong’o revealed that she hasn’t shot any of her scenes yet – despite Johnson sharing a photo of Maz Kanata during rehearsals. Now we are learning a little bit more about the film’s tone from Adam Driver, who says the dark tone is different from the dark tone that we saw in The Empire Strikes Back and that the stakes are also higher for all the characters. Check out what he had to say below.
