| Farrelly Bros Confirm ‘Dumb & Dumber 2’; Production To Begin This Fall
At a press junket for their latest movie The Three Stooges, directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly took some time to discuss the long-rumored sequel to their 1994 smash hit debut Dumb & Dumber, which also helped launch the career of star Jim Carrey. Coming Soon reports that Peter Farrelly said that the movie is definitely in the works with the stars returning and that the brothers are looking to begin production later this year on Dumb & Dumber 2 (title subject to change).” We’re getting set to shoot Dumb and Dumber 2 in September,” Farrelly said. “It’s the first sequel we’ve ever done and we’ve got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back.”

| WonderCon 2012: Rian Johnson’s ‘Looper’
Director Rian Johnson opened up the Looper panel today at WonderCon 2012 by explaining that it’s a time-travel action movie that he had conceptualized as far back as when he directed Brick. Loopers are hit men hired by future-dwelling organized crime members who are able to send their targets back into the past, where the loopers shoot them and dispose of them back in time. Joseph Gordon-Levitt ‘s character is a looper who is surprised when he discovers his latest target is his future self. He stars in the film along with Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, and Piper Perabo. At the heart of it is the question, “What would you do if you sat across the table from your older self?”

Howl
Directed by Robert Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman
Starring James Franco, Jon Hamm, David Strathairn, Bob Balaban, Jeff Daniels, Todd Rotondi, Mary-Louise Parker
UK Release date: February 25, 2011
16:10pm Screen 3 in the basement of the Cornerhouse, the missus and I alone in the dark, a screen no bigger than 15×10 feet, making this feel like a slideshow presentation and the film starts in greyscale, in a smoky basement cafe in 1955 San Fransisco… In 1955, a 29-year-old unpublished poet realised the American Dream in a four-part poem called Howl, a poem that would become an obscene ode to the struggle of his displaced lost generation, post WWII when the creation of ‘teenager’ also created a whole slew of new problems for the new transition between child and man. “What would my father think of Howl?” Ginsberg wondered, a typical notion of self examination and the constant need to prove to parents that, yes, you will find a job, even if it is not in their footsteps. Ginsberg would soon find out two years later in 1957 that it isn’t just what his father thinks, but the general public when the poem became infamous when his publisher was thrust into a court trial for the distribution of obscene materials.

| The Geeks Of Doom Guide To Geeky Halloween Costumes |
 |

We at Geeks of Doom love Halloween. The smell in the air, the leaves changing color to mark the occasion, and all of the old edited horror movies playing over and over on your TV make it one of the most entertaining and exciting times of year. Back in 2006, we compiled a list of some of the best geek costumes on the market for those of you who do not yet have an idea as to what you want to be. It’s already been three years now, so we thought it was about time to compile another epic list of costume options for the undecided (which includes myself). While checking these costumes out, keep some things in mind — most importantly: pretty much every costume that you see will have multiple styles of varying price and quality. The majority of the ones we have here are in the $30-$50 range, but you can find really high-quality “Deluxe” versions of the costume that will run you in the $100-$200 dollar range. These are for the folks who have money to spare and love authenticity. If you’re out of your freakin’ mind, there’s even Batman and Darth Vader costumes that will run you $700+ dollars. If you don’t like the one we’ve linked to, just search the character and check out all of the others that exist. Most costumes have children’s versions available, too. We’ve included some great kids’ costumes, but if you find an adult one you’d like for the little ones, just search it out! Also worth keeping in mind: a lot of these costumes have female counter-costumes that would be perfect for couples looking to match up. Oh, and it won’t be stupid like going as a plug and an electrical socket. Tee-hee. Many, many costume options were found for men, women, children, and pets, so please continue on and check some of them out!
