| Michael Keaton Re-Enters Talks To Star In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’
Just a few weeks ago it looked like Sony and director Jon Watts were going to have to find a new actor to play the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Academy Award winner Michael Keaton was the frontrunner for the role, as reports spread about his possible casting. However, the actor seemingly dropped out of the running. However, it seems as though the thought of being in a Spider-Man movie that is now a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe could not escape the actor, as he is now back in talks to star in the same role. | Robert Downey Jr. Says He’s Interested In ‘Iron Man 4’
At first, the idea of Iron Man 4 it started out as a slip of the tongue when Robert Downey Jr. said he would be interested in the film. This was then quickly clarified with the actor backtracking on the statement. It had been reported that the actor would only be contracted for a few more films, particularly the Avengers sequels. However, that all changed when it was announced that Iron Man would have a major role in Captain America: Civil War. Some thought that the film could be mistaken for Iron Man 4, to which Downey Jr. assured that Civil War would be Captain America’s film. He went on to say that Iron Man 4 is definitely not on the table. Then the actor signed on to be in Spider-Man: Homecoming, something that had been speculated for a long time. | Robert Downey Jr. Says ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ Is Still In The Pipeline
The game is afoot for the Sherlock Holmes film franchise. Shortly after Robert Downey Jr. starred as Iron Man in the titular film, the actor moved onto yet another title role in 2009 in Guy Ritchie‘s Sherlock Holmes, and then reprised the role once more in the 2011 sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Though the sequel wasn’t as much of a hit as its predecessor, both films were enough of a commercial success that Warner Bros wanted more. News regarding Sherlock Holmes 3 has been slow going, but with Downey Jr. currently on the press tour for Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, journalists will undoubtedly be asking the actor not only about the film he stars in, but others as well. | Robert Downey Jr. Will Return As Tony Stark In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’
For months it has been rumored, semi-confirmed, and joked about on the junket circuit and late night talk show circuit, but now it is official: Robert Downey Jr. has signed on to co-star in Spider-Man: Homecoming! Naturally he’ll be returning to play Tony Stark in the Sony Pictures/Marvel Studios production which Jon Watts (Cop Car) is directing from a screenplay by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein (Horrible Bosses), with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige producing alongside Amy Pascal. Tom Holland, the latest actor to play Spider-Man, will make his first appearance as the superhero in next month’s Captain America: Civil War. The events of that film are expected to pay off in Homecoming.
