| ‘Jaws’ Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary! |
 |

Jaws, which remains one of the (pun intended) high water benchmarks in the history of Hollywood, and is one of the scariest, sharply written, directed, acted, and not to mention edited films ever created, celebrates its 40th birthday today. There are so many genres which owe tips of the hat to this film, what it has done to the pop cultural landscape, the standard it has set for the contemporary modern thriller, the blueprint for aquatic water thrillers, not to mention solidifying the career of Steven Spielberg, who made this film just he was creeping into his 30th year. Coupled with the powerhouse acting triad of Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, and Robert Shaw, and the memorable and now Hollywood folklore two-note heart-stopping theme by John Williams, there isn’t really much left to say about Jaws that hasn’t already been written, scrutinized, dissected, and most importantly, enjoyed by countless generations. But yet, despite all of this, Jaws still has plenty to say in all four corners of what it is and what it remains.

| ‘Jurassic World’ Interview: Vincent D’Onofrio |
 |

Set 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, Colin Trevorrow‘s Jurassic World sees the dinosaur theme park fully restored and operational. But even with its success, the park needs to find ways to attract new visitors, and at InGen’s request, the science team created the Indominus Rex, a fearsome hybrid dinosaur that grows beyond InGen’s control. Now, it is up to Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), a raptor whisperer, Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard), the park’s CEO, and the island’s private security force to stop the monstrous creation before she can cause more damage. In the film, Vincent D’Onofrio plays Vic Hoskins, the leader of Jurassic World’s private security force, who is also trying to utilize the park’s dinosaurs for military purposes. We had the opportunity to talk to D’Onofrio over the phone about the film, his character, and working with director Colin Trevorrow. We also had a chance to reminisce about working with Rick Baker on the set of Men in Black, and were reminded about Marvel’s code of silence. Check out the full interview below.

| Honest Trailers: ‘The Lost World: Jurassic Park’
The new trend in Honest Trailers is to preview the big release of the upcoming weekend. After Pitch Perfect and Entourage the last two weeks, the Screen Junkies guys debut this afternoon The Lost World: Jurassic Park trailer, mocking Steven Spielberg’s 1997 sequel to the legendary 1993 hit Jurassic Park. In fact the sequel thing is the first thing they poke fun, relating Lost World to one of the unnecessary Jaws sequels. Narrator Jon Bailey also asks a question I always pondered: “Why isn’t the title Jurassic Park 2: Lost World?” Be sure to check out the video below.

| ‘Jurassic World’ Interview: Director Colin Trevorrow |
 |

Colin Trevorrow is going to be a name you’ll be hearing a lot more of in the coming years. Though the filmmaker does have a few directing credits to his name, he got his first major recognition for his Sundance comedy hit, Safety [Not Guaranteed]. After that, he made the leap from small indie film to Jurassic World, starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, and more. The film, which takes place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, sees a fully functioning park complete with rides, interactive experiences, and family friendly shows. But behind the scenes, there is a villainous plan that will put the park and everyone in it, in real danger. We were given a special phone interview with director Colin Trevorrow, where we got to talk about Jurassic World, making that jump from an indie film to a major blockbuster, the threat that social media and internet blogging leaks present to a film production, practical effects vs CG, Star Wars, and much more. Check out the interview below.

| “Never Say Die”: Happy 30th Birthday To ‘The Goonies’
Back in 1985, Richard Donner, Steven Spielberg, and Chris Columbus created a tale of a bunch of outcast kids searching for buried pirate treasure. It doesn’t necessarily sound like a classic. But to those of Generations X and Y, the adventures of Mikey, Mouth, Data, Chunk, and Sloth are those of legends. This past weekend, Sunday to be precise, The Goonies celebrated its 30th birthday.
