| Tony Stark Gets His Metal Tested In This Extended ‘Iron Man 3’ Super Bowl Trailer
Disney and Marvel Studios premiered a 30-second TV spot for their next huge superhero epic Iron Man 3 during tonight’s Super Bowl. Now an extended version has made its way onto the Internet. You can watch it here below. After franchise star Robert Downey Jr. engages us in the greatest staring contest in the recorded history of mankind (he wins), we are treated to a solid minute of footage from the movie. It all comes in lighting quick glimpses, but eagle-eyed viewers will catch Ben Kingsley as the main heavy the Mandarin, Guy Pearce as Dr. Aldrich Killian, Don Cheadle suited up as a more patriotic War Machine, and a smashing finale where ol’ Shellhead has to make a mid-air rescue of thirteen people who have just been sucked out of an exploding aircraft when he can only carry four at a time. As Tony Stark would say, “Oh boy.”

| The Culturesmash Top 12 Films Of 2012 |
 |

2012 was a really exciting year for film. We saw the culmination of a masterpiece world building franchise from Marvel Entertainment, perhaps one of the best 007 movies ever made, and Ben Affleck showed once again that there’s much more to him than haters would have led you to believe. It was actually really difficult to compile just 12 films for a best of list. Some great movies were left completely off my list such as Wreck-it-Ralph. The film is a joy and it truly tickles the funny bone of geeks that grew up with video games in the ’80s and that still play them now. Jiro Dreams of Sushi was a masterpiece documentary that follows the family of one of Japan’s greatest sushi chef’s and the film features some truly beautiful sushi cinematography! There are others, but I’m already giving myself two extra entries in this list just to play with the “12” gimmick. These sorts of lists are just pure opinion. What I like about them though as a movie fan is by reading them I might discover some gem of a film that I haven’t seen or heard about or I might be convinced to give a movie a chance that I was planning to pass up. OK, enough babbling, here are my Top 12 films of 2012.

Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe begins on May 3, 2013 with the one franchise that started it all. Shane Black‘s Iron Man 3 will take place after the events of The Avengers and based on what we’ve seen from the first trailer, it looks like Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) will be scarred by what he has seen since The Avengers first assembled. In an interview with MTV, Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige talked about what we would see in the film. Feige first address the mental state of Tony Stark and how the events in New York would affect him in Iron Man 3.

| Want More Thanos After Watching ‘The Avengers’? Get Ready For Marvel’s ‘Thanos Rising’
The teaser ending of Marvel’s The Avengers featuring the cosmic entity known as Thanos got many Marvel Comics fans excited, to put it mildly. If you’re new to the scene or just never followed the character before, now is your chance to learn who he is and what sort of threat he could be posing in both comic book and film form. Thanos spent most of his time loitering in cosmic-related books such as Fantastic Four or the various incarnations of Silver Surfer and sometimes visiting the X world. Marvel is launching a new limited series as part of Marvel NOW! titled Thanos Rising which promises to give us the skinny on one ticked off bad guy. The creative team of writer Jason Aaron (Thor: God Of Thunder) and artist Simone Bianchi (Wolverine) have been tasked with telling this epic story in just five issues.
