Holiday Gift Guide: Comics banner

Sleigh bells ring are you listening? In the lane, something’s glistening, a beautiful sight, we’re happy tonight, because we’ve got some comic book gift suggestions! That’s right guys and geeks, “The Hench” and “The Fac3” have reunited (and it feels so good!) for the sole purpose of giving all of your crazed souls a nice long list of comic books for everyone on your holiday gift list. This one’s going to be hefty, so make sure to pull out that list of folks you’re giving gifts to this holiday season, compare it with our list of all of this year’s top releases, and give Santa a head’s up on what everyone should be getting. Speaking of “should be getting,” should we be getting this list started? Yes. Yes, we should. Also, speaking for “The Face,” I’m pretty sure you could also get these for us. I’m just saying…

GoD List Halloween

Each and every week, I, “Count Chocula” Henchman21, and “Boo Berry” Empress Eve read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. Naturally, we look forward to some more than others. I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of our pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of October 30, 2013. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

It’s Halloween, kiddies which means it’s time for us to bring you a list full of creepy tales to keep you entertained on a dark and stormy night. Or maybe you’re not into the whole horror thing and you just want to keep up with your favorite superheroes. Fortunately, we’ve got something for everyone today. So go out and pick up some comics, and if you’re got a little extra money and plan on handing out candy to the neighborhood kids, consider buying some cheap kid friendly issues out of the quarter bins and hand those out along with the candy. It’s better than handing out floss or pennies or anything that isn’t candy. If there’s one thing we don’t recommend, it’s getting your house egged because you let down all those trick or treaters. So, go out, have fun, stay safe, and enjoy comics with this extra scary edition of The GoD List!

Top 5 Telekenetics

The newest adaptation of Stephen King’s Carrie, a film about a girl with telekinetic powers who gets bullied and begins to use her powers against a lot of people, just hit theaters last week. The movie had some really great marketing schemes including the viral coffee shop prank that was covered on the site a few weeks ago.

With Carrie‘s recent release, I thought it would be appropriate to compile a list of five telekinetic fictional characters that Carrie would not want to mess with and who make the power Carrie wields seem like child’s pay.

Check out the list below of the Top 5 Telekinetics Stronger Than Carrie.

X-Men Gold #1

The X-Men have been in print for 50 years! Marvel is celebrating that milestone with a limited series called X-Men Gold that will feature all-new stories from the creators that have made the Children of the Atom what they are today (for better or for worse).

X-Men Gold #1 is an all-new full-length story from writer Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod. Claremont has had a rocky return to the franchise over the last few years, but there’s no denying the impact he had on the X-Men and the Marvel Universe in general. There’s also an all-new story from Stan “the Man” Lee! Other stories set at various points in X-Men history are from creators Len Wein, Jorge Molina, Fabian Nicieza, Salvador Larroca, Roy Thomas, and Pat Olliffe.

Check out the preview of X-Men Gold #1 here below.
