Now before we get ahead of ourselves and jump for joy, Nicole Kidman is only in talks to star in Wonder Woman for an unspecified, but vital role, according to The Wrap. The site believes that the actress may play Hippolyta, queen of the Amazons, and the biological mother to Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot). But like most of these comic book cinematic universes, it’s not clear if director Patty Jenkins or anyone over at WB and DC would want to follow the comic book storylines to the letter. More on the story below.

Joker and Red Hood May Give Ben Affleck Problems In Batman Solo Film

One of the biggest (and most ominous) Easter Eggs to appear in the most recent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer was the Robin suit that was covered in graffiti, which said “Hahaha Joke’s On You Batman.” Seeing that, some would speculate that the Joker had killed Robin (presumably Jason Todd) before the events of the film, maybe even before Man of Steel. While we cannot set a timeline, this Easter Egg may tell us that the next Batman film (which may or may not be directed by Ben Affleck) could be based on the Red Hood storyline, where Jason Todd is killed by the Joker, only to be brought back to life where he sought out vengeance against Batman for letting the mass-murdering Joker live. Now there seems to be some weight to this theory as a new rumor has popped up saying that the Red Hood and Joker could make an appearance in the untitled Batman film. More on the story below.

Rumor: ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer Attached To ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

It’s been a few months since we saw the footage of Captain America: Civil War at the D23 Expo. At the time there was only about a week’s worth of shooting left before the sequel was completed. Much of what we saw looked pretty polished, and could have been condensed and cut for a trailer. But nothing has been released since then. One might suspect that they would attach the first trailer to a tentpole film, which would make sense since September and October aren’t known for blockbuster films. While there have been rumors that the Civil War trailer would be attached to Spectre, which is in U.K. theaters now but drops in North America next week, there is another one that says it will be attached to none other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Because, you know, both Marvel and Lucasfilm are owned by Disney. More on this story below.

Gal Gadot will introduce Wonder Woman to the big screen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This will mark the first time that the DC heroine has graced cinemas. She will then move on to be featured in her own titular solo film. Rumors have been going around on where (or rather when) the film is set. Early on, there was word that Wonder Woman could take place during World War I, which would contradict earlier rumors that Wonder Woman I and II would be set during World War I and II, respectively, with the final film taking place during modern times. Now, a new rumor has popped up that seems to clarify when the film is actually taking place. According to JoBlo, Wonder Woman will precede the events — in fact, it will take place months before the events — of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. According to the site, the first solo film will also feature flashbacks to World War I. More on the story below.

Rumor: Christopher McQuarrie Did A Pass On ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ Script

Oftentimes when we hear that a script is being polished or rewritten, it raises a few red flags. However, most of the time it is done just to iron out a few wrinkles the overall story may have. World War Z had some narrative problems, and brought in Damon Lindelof (Prometheus, Tomorrowland) and Drew Goddard (Cabin In The Woods, Daredevil) to work on the third act. Their contribution was so beneficial, they received a writing credit on the film. This is a bit of a common practice within the industry. So now comes a rumor that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story brought in Christopher McQuarrie to work on Chris Whitz’s script based on a story by Gary Whitta. More on this report below.
