Warner Brothers’ forthcoming DC Cinematic Universe kickoff epic Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to be the highlight of the studio’s panel at the San Diego Comic-Con tomorrow morning.

In advance of the panel an interesting tidbit has leaked out regarding their next big superhero blockbuster Justice League, which like Dawn of Justice, is being directed by Zack Snyder for release in 2017.

Mere days after Warner Bros.’ long-term plans for bringing the DC Universe to the big screen leaked out, a rumor surrounding the casting of their next major cinematic production is starting to take on the shape of nothing but the truth.

If the rough release schedule hashed out by DC Comics and Warner Bros. that we first glimpsed this week is accurate, then that means that the upcoming Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will not be a direct sequel to last year’s Man of Steel, but a proper launching pad for the inevitable Justice League film being targeted for release the next year. Both features will be directed by Zack Snyder.

Nothing is official yet, but it’s being reported that Jason Momoa, star of HBO’s Game of Thrones and the Conan the Barbarian remake, is in talks to join the Man of Steel sequel, which is currently known only as Batman vs. Superman.

Who the actor is in talks to play is not yet known, but if Momoa were to sign on, he’d join returning stars like Henry Cavill and Amy Adams as Superman and Lois Lane, Ben Affleck taking over the role of Batman from Christian Bale, and newcomer Gal Godot, who was recently announced as the brand new Wonder Woman.

So while we wait to find out who Momoa could be playing, it seems a perfect opportunity for a little geek discussion.

Guardians of the Galaxy is well on its way to getting ready to start the early stages of production. The James Gunn-directed film already has Chris Pratt signed on to play Star-Lord, Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler are rumored to be in talks to play either Groot or Rocket Raccoon, and they have an animated idea of how they want audiences to see the gun-touting critter. That basically leaves the roles of Drax the Destoryer and Gamora up for grabs.

Well it looks like Conan and Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa has pulled ahead of names like Isiah Mustafa, Dave Bautista, and Brian Patrick, and claimed the role.

I’ve made it no secret how much of a fan of HBO’s original programming and similar shows I am…to the point of it being difficult for me personally to even watch regular network/cable TV shows not named The Walking Dead anymore. Two of my favorite current shows are on HBO, one being Boardwalk Empire and the other being, big surprise and SPOILER ALERT: Game of Thrones.

And while it’s silly of me to give away my feelings on the first season of the series so early in my review, allow me to tell you why I’m so googly-eyed over this wonderful, wonderful world.
