| ‘Thor: Ragnarok’: Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh To Score Marvel Film
Avant-garde musician Mark Mothersbaugh became an icon of 1980’s rock when he helped found the offbeat band Devo and he has composed original music scores for over 170 films and television shows. He’s long been the go-to music man for directors such as Wes Anderson and the team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and now it looks he’ll be bringing his particular brand of quirky, energetic movie melodies to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mothersbaugh has been hired to provide the score for next year’s Thor: Ragnarok, which is currently filming in Australia under director Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows). Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, respectively, are returning as the heroic, hammer-wielding God of Thunder and his villainous brother Loki.

| ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Now One Film, Second Half Becomes ‘Untitled Avengers’ Sequel
Since it was first announced in October 2014, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War was intended to be the company’s biggest release to date. Intentions, much like the best of plans, tend to change over time. Nearly two years have passed and what was initially slated to be a two-part feature that would close out Marvel’s Phase Three line-up with each installment released a year apart in May of 2018 and 2019, it appears that Infinity War will no longer be split in half, as confirmed recently by Disney. Instead it will now be a single film, with what was originally to be the second part of the epic that would unite the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe in glorious battle against the Mad Titan Thanos reconfigured as an untitled Avengers project. Release dates for the two films have not changed though.

| SDCC 2016: Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ Confirmed For Season 3 On Netflix
Well, it’s official. Season 3 of Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix is coming soon. Announced earlier today at San Diego Comic-Con and via Twitter this evening, we get a small taste of what’s to come in a newly released announcement video. The teaser video features a NYC subway sign for the 1, 2, and 3 train lines in Hell’s Kitchen, and when the lights go out for a moment, we hear the sounds of melee combat. I didn’t catch it on the first go around, but did notice on the second: the iconic DD is splattered in blood on the sign! Though we never see an combatants, there’s no doubt what’s happening. When the lights come back on, the sign for the 3 train is spotlighted before the text comes up that “Season III” will be “coming soon.” But don’t take my word for it, watch the teaser trailer here below!

| ‘Captain America: Civil War’: A 12-Year-Old’s Thoughts |
 |

Captain America: Civil War is the 13th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The ongoing film series started back with Jon Favreau’s 2008 Iron Man, and has hit some incredible highs and some modest middles… honestly none of the films are bad, some just mildly disappointing. Directed again by the Russo Brothers (Captain America: Winter Soldier), the new film is the most challenging of the MCU thus far, asking the audience to choose sides over the Sokovia Accords, a treaty signed by hundreds of nations that would put the Avengers under the control of the UN. This is in response to all the past events in the series, but specifically an Avengers mission in Nigeria that stopped a sinister plot, but left many civilians dead. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is sick of watching his technology kill innocents, so he is firmly pro-Accords, whereas Captain America (Chris Evans) believes the whole point of the Avengers is to do what they feel must be done without interference. Things get more complicated when Cap’s old best friend and former brainwashed Hydra assassin Bucky, aka The Winter Soldier, (Sebastian Stan) is blamed for a terrorist attack. Civil War marks the beginning of the MUC’s Phase 3, which includes a whopping 10 films, including standalones for Doctor Strange (November 2016), Spider-Man (July 2017), and Black Panther (July 2018), as well as sequels for Thor and Guardians of the Galaxy. By the time Phase 3 gets to the two-part climactic Infinity War saga in 2018-19, my son will be a 15-year-old high schooler. As for now, 12-year-old Brandon is obsessed with all things MCU. After seeing Civil War for a third time Thursday night, we got into a near hour-long Q&A about the film, the characters, and all things MCU. So I decided to track some of our talk in a little interview to give the pre-teen perspective. Spoilers if you haven’t seen Captain America: Civil War yet…

| Michael Keaton Re-Enters Talks To Star In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’
Just a few weeks ago it looked like Sony and director Jon Watts were going to have to find a new actor to play the villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Academy Award winner Michael Keaton was the frontrunner for the role, as reports spread about his possible casting. However, the actor seemingly dropped out of the running. However, it seems as though the thought of being in a Spider-Man movie that is now a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe could not escape the actor, as he is now back in talks to star in the same role. There are also reports that there will be more than just one villain in the film. Find out more here below.
