| Shout! Factory To Release ‘UHF,’ ‘Escape From New York,’ ‘Mad Max,’ and More On Blu-ray |

A week ago I wrote a retrospective article on the 25th anniversary of “Weird Al” Yankovic‘s supremely silly cult classic UHF and ended it with these words: The movie may one day see a release on Blu-ray and now that Yankovic’s career is hotter than ever thanks to the success of his latest album Mandatory Fun it wouldn’t be inconceivable for a company like Shout! Factory to distribute an HD edition. I automatically assumed at the time that Shout! would pick up the license to release UHF on Blu-ray because it’s an MGM title and they typically distribute that studio’s lesser-loved catalog entries. Plus this year would be the most appropriate time for a UHF Blu because the movie celebrates its silver anniversary in 2014 and anniversaries always look good on a Blu-ray/DVD cover. But I had no idea that when Shout! announced its upcoming home video release slate over the weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con they would be including a new 25th anniversary edition of UHF among some of their better-known titles.

| ‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Maisie Williams Secretly Walked Comic-Con Floor In Spider-Man Mask
Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams was a big hit at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Audiences at gave her a warm welcome appeared on the panel for her hit HBO show, as well as when she was part of the “Women Who Kick Ass” panel in Hall H on Saturday. And when the filmmakers of The Last Of Us revealed at the Screen Gems panel that the 17-year-old British actress was in talks for the role of Ellie in the movie, the audience cheered with delight at the prospect. So, Williams is definitely a fan favorite and a geek icon already at this young age, so you can imagine that she would get swarmed if she were to walk the convention floor at San Diego Comic-Con. So, the young actress did what most celebrities have to do — walk the floor masked and blend in with all the other cosplayers.

| ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ Red Band Comic-Con Trailer Has Blood, Bullets, and Badass Ladies
Over the weekend Dimension Films brought their all-star comic book noir sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For to the San Diego Comic-Con for a panel with director Robert Rodriguez, Sin City creator/writer/artist Frank Miller, and several of the film’s stars in attendance. In addition to the celebrity presence some new footage was screened, including an extended red band trailer. That trailer is now online for all to behold. You can watch it here below.

| SDCC 2014: Benedict Cumberbatch Poses With LEGO Dragon Smaug (Photos)
This week, actor and fan favorite Benedict Cumberbatch made his first appearance at the Geek mecca San Diego Comic-Con, where he took part in panels for two of his upcoming films: the DreamWorks animated movie, Penguins of Madagascar, where he voices a wolf, and of course, The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, where does the voice and motion-capture performance for two characters – the Necromancer and the dragon Smaug. Along with speaking on panels, Cumberbatch also stopped to pose with the LEGO dragon Smaug at the WB booth. Check out photos here below of the actor standing with the LEGO creation, which was made out of 83,433 LEGO bricks. | Watch Now: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Comic-Con Trailer Unleashes A World Of Fire and Blood
After being in production for what felt like an eternity Mad Max: Fury Road‘s promotional campaign is revving its engines hardcore for release next summer. The latest film in director George Miller‘s post-apocalyptic action saga has in recent days had a teaser poster and four character posters unveiled to the world. Yesterday Miller came to the San Diego Comic-Con for a panel in the fabled Hall H to present the first footage from Fury Road and what the gathered masses saw brought down the house. Today the Comic-Con trailer for Fury Road has been made available to be watched by all courtesy of Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow, albeit in a slightly shorter form but in shiny high-definition.
