| Famous Monster’s Favorite Film Quotes of 2012 |
 |

2012 was a fantastic year for movies. Films like The Dark Knight Rises and Marvel’s The Avengers entertained audiences with blockbuster action sequences and the ultimate in childhood wish fulfillment, while movies such as Drew Goddard‘s Cabin in the Woods and Gareth Edward‘s The Raid: Redemption will long be remembered as putting the nail in the coffin of their respective genres. We saw new films from acclaimed directors like Steven Spielberg, Quentin Tarantino, Ridley Scott, Christopher Nolan, Ang Lee, David O. Russell, Paul Thomas Anderson, William Friedkin, Steven Soderbergh, Ben Affleck, Sam Mendes, and Kathryn Bigelow. Not to mention the latest offerings from Rian Johnson, Joss Whedon, Richard Linklater, and newcomers Colin Trevorrow, Benh Zeitlin, and Stephen Chbosky. So many memorable characters – so many great lines delivered by talented actors inhabiting their roles. Here are some of the best (and a few of the worst) film quotes from 2012. Feel free to include your own in the comments! You can also check out my Top 25 Films of 2012 here!

| Watch Now: 5-Minute ’21 Jump Street’ Red Band Trailer
I initially found it disappointing that Jonah Hill was using his well-earned celebrity clout to mount a big-screen 21 Jump Street movie, even though the actor was insisting it would be funny and violent. I got even less interested when Channing Tatum, the moderately talented human two-by-four from the Step Up movies and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, signed on to be Hill’s co-star. The trend of reviving outdated television series as outsized comedy flicks, kicked off in 1987 with Dragnet, has never caught on as an actual trend and the original 21 Jump Street show was not something I was a fan of anyway. Then the first trailer for the movie hit and I found it really funny. Now, there’s a newer, longer, and more profane 21 Jump Street trailer for you to laugh your ass all the way through. You can watch the red band clip here below, but be advised: there’s a ton of swearing in it.

Following in the wake of a shockingly intriguing red-band trailer, we’ve got yet another chance to look at the upcoming big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street, and I must say, it looks quite good. The film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, and follows the story of a cop duo who are sent into a high school, undercover, to bust the person behind a recent rash of drugs going around the school.

As a person who has actually never seen an episode of 21 Jump Street, I must say, while my expectations for a film adaptation weren’t all that high, this red-band trailer definitely proves that they should be raised quite a bit. Directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, as two cops turned high school students who go on the hunt for a supplier of narcotics, who has brought in a new synthetic drug to the school.
